BCBS Caring Foundation Offers Student Scholarships to Strengthen North Dakota’s Health Care Workforce

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation is investing in health profession education by offering scholarships to help address and strengthen the health care workforce shortage and provide financial assistance to aspiring individuals throughout the state of North Dakota pursuing roles in this field.
The BCBSND Caring Foundation Health Profession Scholarship Program will award sixteen $2,500 scholarships to individuals seeking nursing careers and ten $2,500 scholarships to individuals pursing a non-nursing health care related career.
Applications will be accepted August 1 through October 1, 2018.
To apply, students should visit their school’s external scholarships webpage or visit our Caring Foundation website. Scholarship awardees will be selected based on academic achievements, financial need and service to the community.
Applications, along with a copy of the student’s most recent grade transcript, should be submitted to BCBSND Caring Foundation via email at caringfoundation@bcbsnd.com by October 1, 2018.
Funds will be awarded to students by December 1, 2018
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, student applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of North Dakota
- Attending a North Dakota university, college or technical college
- Pursuing a degree in a nursing or health care related field
- Have completed at least their freshman year of undergraduate course work
- Be a full-time student
- Be in good academic standing; maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
- Demonstrate financial need
